UAS Photomapper – Aerial Mapping (Photomapping) Platform

UAS Photomapper

UAS Photomapper

The Photomapper is an electric small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle developed for aerial surveying / photomapping. And comes from over 6 years of UAV systems integration experience with commercial and open-source UAV systems and components. Weighing at 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs) it’s hand-launched and recovered by belly land or parachute* (optional). The Photomapper’s form and design makes it easy to use by the end-user.

Or entry-level version can cover up to 250 hectares (2.5 sq. km.) per flight at 5 cm/pixel resolution on a single flight. Fitted with a customized Canon SX260HS or Canon S110 with an autopilot-controlled trigger – where the autopilot actuates the shutter based on GPS position. Each image is geotagged using the camera’s built-in GPS, or it can be geotagged using the autopilot flight logs.

Flight Control / Autopilot System

The Photomapper is powered by the 3DR ArduPilot autopilot system with various sensors. The Spektrum DX R/C transmitter and receiver allows for manual control of the aircraft. With an intuitive ground control software – it’s as easy as highlighting your area of interest and the software will automatically plot a flight plan for photomapping.
